Bayern Munich thrash http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Freiburg-c40462 as Mario Gomez hits four- Bundesliga Recap
Bayern Munich hit seven past SC Freiburg in this weekend’s Bundesliga fixture to remain on top of the standings table. Star striker Mario Gomez scored four goals in the fixture to make sure his side took away three points and stay
ahead of the likes of Werder Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayern remain on top with 12 points and have won four of the five games played so far in the Bundesliga this season. They are level on points with Werder Bremen but are way ahead on the goal difference.
The hosts were dominant right from the start and Franck Ribery made a striking run from the left wing to pass http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toni-Kroos-c35425, whose shot went right into the hands of the opposition goalkeeper.
However, it took the home side only eight minutes to open the scoring as last season’s highest goal scorer Mario Gomez guided the ball home from point blank range after an unselfish pass from Kroos.
Kroos was again involved in the 26th minute as he played a brilliant through ball to Gomez and the striker then passed it to Ribery, who had no qualms in finding the net to make it 2-0.
The French international completed his brace in the 41st minute as he went past two defenders to put the ball past the goalkeeper in a wonderful display of skill. The score remained 3-0 at half-time with the Bavarian
outfit dominating the first period of the game.
The Bavarians started the second period with the same momentum and Gomez had another simple tap in to make in the 52nd minute from Ribery as a result from some poor defending from the visitors. The German international
got his hat-trick just three minutes later after a clearance from the opposition defender luckily hit him and went in from over the shot stopper.
The former Stuttgart striker was in no mood of stopping as Bayern were awarded a penalty when Thomas Muller was brought down inside the box and the forward was at ease once again as he netted for the fourth time in the day.
It was getting more and more humiliating for Marcus Sorg as Bayern looked to be attacking more and were pushing the visitors on the back foot. Nils Petersen put the final nail in the coffin in the dying moments of the match as
he guided home a brilliant Schweinsteiger cross to make it 7-0 for the hosts.
The match ended with the same score line and Bayern proved yet again that they are serious contenders for the Bundesliga title this season. The Bavarian giants will face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Villarreal-CF-c40899 in the UEFA Champions League in mid-week in
