Bayern Munich tipped favourites to win the 2011/12 Bundesliga title – Bundesliga news
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have been termed favourites by most of the coaches to win the 2011/12 title. Most of the coaches believe that the club have spent wisely during the summer and have recruited some fresh legs which could prove to be fruitful
come the end of the season.
Reigning champions Borussia Dortmund manager, Jurgen Klopp, also reckons that his team are no way near the likes of Bayern and therefore it would be a miracle to repeat the performances of the last campaign.
Manager Jupp Heynckes remained calm over his team’s chances and claimed that Bayern would go in every match as the underdogs. He told that he doesn’t want his players to think about the title at this point in time. Heynckes further added that his target
would also be to lead his club into the finals of the UEFA Champions League.
Munich were kicked out of the competition last time around when they were beaten by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan in the round-of-16. The Bavarians managed to reach the finals of the competition in the 2009/10 season but finished runners-up to the same opposition.
While addressing a press conference, Dortmund Manager enthused, "We are probably the first champion in the history of football that goes into the next season as a challenger. What we did last season will be very hard to repeat, let alone top."
Heynckes believed that his team need to work on their defence in order to regain the Bundesliga crown. He believed that last season it was the defence that didn’t help the team’s ambitions and no side can win the title by conceding 44 goals in the competition.
He concluded by saying, "The attack wins games, the defence championships. We have to be more stable in defence,"
The 2011/12 Bundesliga campaign will get underway on Friday, August 5, when Borussia Dortmund and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamburger-SV-c39485 kick-start the action. Bayern Munich will play their first game on Sunday when they host Borussia Monchengladbach. The Bavarians will have to appear
in the Champions League play-offs in order to fulfil their ambition of playing in the finals.
