Bayern Munich to win the title; Robben player of the year: Predictions for 2011-12 season (Part 2)
Article continued from part one
Young Player of the Season
Mario Gotze
The young Borussia Dortmund midfielder is touted to be the next big thing in German football. The player has already shown glimpses of brilliance in the previous season and has proved that he can be a dangerous player.
He rose to prominence last year when Japanese international http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shinji-Kagawa-c33364 was ruled out for the second-half of the campaign after an injury in the AFC Asian Cup this January. Instead of signing a replacement for the attacking midfielder,
manager Jurgen Klopp gave Gotze a chance to fill in the boots of the Japanese and the midfielder took the chance with open arms.
However, the German international still has a lot to prove and has even more responsibility on his young shoulders as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nuri-Sahin-c28251 has also left the club this summer for Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Manager of the season
Jurgen Klopp
Die Borussen manager had a sensational campaign last year but this year will be vital for him to prove that last season was not a fluke. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 tactician has the capability to nurture youth and bring the best out
of them. He will be under a lot of pressure from the Dortmund fans of achieving the same as last year and with Bayern Munich spending millions in this summer’s transfer window to strengthen the squad, the responsibility will only become tougher.
Nuri Sahin was Dortmund’s main man last season and his sensational performances guided the club to title glory. It has to be seen who will emerge as the star in the next campaign who could guide the club to further success in the
League and in Europe also.
Surprise Package

Mirko Slomka’s side turned many heads with their impressive performances in the previous campaign and earned themselves an automatic qualification for the UEFA Europa League. The Reds were sensational last term as they finished
in an impressive fifth place with 60 points and gave Bayern Munich a run for their money for a fourth place finish.
Hannover won 19 games out of 34 all season and lost 12 times and marked the end of a very successful campaign. They are expected to have another breakthrough season this term domestically and in Europe as well after some good business
in the summer transfer window.
Relegation Candidates
Hamburg SV(relegation play-off), FC Kaiserslautern, FC Augsburg
Hamburg has a very young side which is relatively inexperienced in the Bundesliga. The departures of players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joris-Mathijsen-c19242 this summer would not help the club one bit as the players had a lot experience.
The replacements in the form of Gokhan Tore and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Mancienne-c25332 are surely talented but there are doubts over their performances at the highest stage.
Kaiserslautern had a brilliant previous season as they ended in seventh place but it is doubtful that they will repeat the performance again. With little activity this summer, they will be expected to go down.
It was a fantastic achievement to be promoted to the Bundesliga for FC Augsburg but they are definitely short of the quality needed for survival in one of the top leagues in Europe.
