Thomas Muller, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivica-Olic-c17399 and Arjen Robben have expressed their frustration at Bayern’s inability to beat Hamburg at Imtech Arena last week.
Bayern Munich only managed a point from their trip to Rothosen on Saturday, February 04, as Borussia Dortmund displaced them from top of the league standings with a win over Nuremberg on Friday, February 03.
Jacopo Sala scored a screamer inside the first 45 minutes to give Hamburg the lead which was later cancelled out by Olic in the second-half.
Reds’ attacker Thomas Muller expressed his disappointment at the team’s draw as he was eyeing all three points to stay atop the league table. He opined that Bayern must have won against the Red Shorts, banking on their clinical
performance after the interval. He stated that it is extremely frustrating to continuously drop points when your ultimate goal is to win the title.
While talking to the sports website, bild.de, the 22-year-old further added:
"We need to always win at FC Bayern. And especially if you want to be champions, you have to win a lot of games. Therefore, the draw frustrates me immensely because it was a game where there was more there for us."
On the other hand, striker Ivica Olic also shared his frustration on dropping points against his former club. Olic scored an equaliser for his side in the 71st minute after coming on as a substitute in place of Toni
Kroos in the 64th minute. He opined that a win would certainly have been an outstanding result for his side.
"I was lucky that the ball comes to me but strikers need that luck. In the second half we made more pressure [but this result was] certainly not enough. We still have a lot of work to do," Olic added.
Bayern winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521, mentioned that it is certainly not the kind of start the Reds were looking for after the winter break. He insisted that Bayern would soon need to regain their lost form, and remained confident of winning
this season’s crown.
"For us, this [result] is not enough. But there is still a long way to go. We are not top, but it's coming," Robben concluded.
Bayern are currently just two points short of Borussia Dortmund at the second spot, and will next take on FC Kaiserslautern in the Bundesliga on Saturday, February 11, at Allianz-Arena.
