Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben insists there is still room for improvement- Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 has insisted that there is still room for improvement as they prepare for the Bundesliga clash against Hamburg SV at the Allianz Arena this weekend. He claimed that the team is not performing to
its potential and need to step up in their performances in the future games.
Robben claimed that the team still lacks the aggression and pace this season and have to improve if they have any chances to challenge for major honours this term. He added that the attackers will have to take their chances upfront
so that goals come steady.
“We’re still not playing well enough and that has to improve. When we attack, we have to get the ball forward much quicker, we have to concentrate harder, and we need to be more aggressive,” he was quoted as saying in an interview
to the club’s official site.
However, the Dutch international was satisfied with the result against FC Zurich in the UEFA Champions League play-off clash at Allianz Arena which the hosts won 2-0. The winger stated that scoring two goals and conceding none
is a fair result to go into the second-leg.
“We have to be satisfied with the win though, because 2-0 is a good result. We’ve scored twice and conceded none,” the former Real Madrid man concluded.
Meanwhile, Robben’s teammate http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bastian-Schweinsteiger-c7374 expressed his disappointment on not taking the opportunities coming their way. He insisted that the margin of the win could surely have been more but there were a lot of missed
opportunities in the second-half.
The German international was wary of the threat in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Switzerland-c3016 and urged his side against complacency. He admitted that Bayern will not take FC Zurich lightly and will try and win the return leg as well.
“We should have scored two or three more goals. We started well but faded. We dominated the second half and should have won by a bigger margin,” the midfielder concluded.
Bayern will take on FC Zurich in the second-leg in Switzerland at Letzigrund on Tuesday, August 23.
