Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery admits that he is back to full confidence again- Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has admitted that playing under new manager Jupp Heynckes has given him a lot of confidence and that he wants to keep improving. He insisted that he is enjoying his football currently which was
not the case two years ago when Louis van Gaal was the manager of the club.
The French international has been in sensational form this season and has been brilliant on the left wing for the German giants. He recently scored a great goal against Hamburg in the club’s last Bundesliga match at Allianz Arena
when the hosts went on to win 5-0.
Ribery claimed that he is enjoying his game under the new manager Jupp Heynckes. He stated that the confidence has returned and he is playing without any pressure whatsoever. The midfielder insisted that the manager has his faith
in him and always encourages the players.
“I really had a lot of fun in today's game [against Hamburg]. I'm brimming with confidence again. The coach has a lot of faith in me and I really like the way he treats the players,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Olympique Marseille player admitted that he did not have a very good two years before this season. The player underperformed after a brilliant maiden season with Bayern and he blames then manager Louis van Gaal for it.
The Frenchman claimed that he did not enjoy his game then which is why the performances were not up to the mark. He remained confident that he will continue the impressive showings in the current campaign.
“I haven't had fun on the pitch for two years. I had had more than enough of it. I can't play the way I want to play when I'm not having fun out there. I need to enjoy myself to be at my best,” the player concluded.
Franck Ribery has so far made 100 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern Munich and has scored an impressive 32 goals in the process.
