Bayern Munich’s Anatoliy Tymoshchuk reveals tough beginning at the club- Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich midfielder Anatoliy Tymoshchuk has talked about the tough start to his career in the Bundesliga. The player stated that he had to face rude comments from former manager Louis van Gaal when he arrived at the club and
was forced to sit on the bench for most of his maiden campaign. He added that he is now happy at the club as Jupp Heynckes has been a huge support.
Tymoshchuk joined the Munich giants in the summer of 2009 from Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg and signed a three-year contract. He has made 14 appearances for the Bavarian side this season and is yet to score a goal in this
campaign.
The Ukrainian international revealed that times were not the best when he joined Bayern in 2009. He stated that Louis Van Gaal had made it clear in the very first training session that he did not want to sign him and the club did
not need a player like him.
The midfielder insisted that the comments were depressing but he fought for his place in the side. He praised current manager Jupp Heynckes for his support and admitted that the situation has changed with the appointment of the
former Bayer Leverkusen boss.
“Louis Van Gaal said to me at the first training session that he had not signed me and that he had no need for a player like me. I had not even commenced training. It was very tough to work in such a dismal situation. There was
a much more relaxed situation when Heynckes arrived,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.

club and has no plans of retiring.
“Overall, my family and I are happy here and if the club would like to extend my contract, then I would be happy with that,” he concluded.
