Robben insisted that there is still time to improve as the season will start in about two week’s time. The winger played down reports that the team still has defensive problems and claimed that results in the pre-season don’t matter.
“We are still in pre-season and we must still improve - that is what pre-season and preparation is all about,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The Dutch international also underlined the importance of great start to the season. He claimed that the team suffered last season because of a poor start and those mistakes should not be repeated again.
“The balance has to be better. Of course we need to start the season better than we did last year. Last season, we had seven or eight points after seven matches, which was certainly not a good beginning,” he continued.

step up in the performances.
“We must find a better balance, just as we did in the last five games of last season. We must improve both in defence and attack and avoid conceding goals so easily,” the winger concluded.
Arjen Robben had an injury plagued season last term but still scored an impressive 13 goals in 17 appearances for his side.
