Bayern Munich’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 vows to stay at Allianz Arena – Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has revealed his desire to stay at Allianz Arena for the remaining part of his contract. Robben’s current contract with the club is set to expire at the end of 2012/13 season and the winger has no plans of leaving the club.
He stated that if he was to leave http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 for a new journey, only Barcelona would be the destination. The Dutchman though confirmed that he has no problems in the country as yet and will honour his deal with the Bavarians.
Robben is expected to lead his side, which has been placed in the group of death, beyond the group stages in the Champions League. The German giants have been pitted in Group A alongside the likes of Manchester City, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 and Villarreal. Bayern manager
Jupp Heynckes has already alerted his troops of the hard times ahead, citing Manchester City as the biggest threat.
The 27-year-old winger enthused that there is apparently no reason for him to part ways with the club this summer. He hailed the officials at Allianz Arena for splashing cash during the summer keeping in mind both the Champions League and the Bundesliga.
The player reckons that Bayern are a strong unit and could virtually overhaul any side on their day.
Robben also revealed that Spanish giants Barcelona were interested in his services almost three years back. He mentioned that the reigning La Liga champions showed interest in acquiring his services but never really came up with a firm offer. The Dutch international
said that he could think about making a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 but only after his contract expires in 2013.
The winger concluded by saying, "http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 are the only club where I would say: 'If they're interested, that would be a fantastic option. Whether they have ever made an offer for me? No, not as far as I know. There was something going on about three years
ago, but they never made a bid. I'm not speculating about a summer transfer, though. I'm feeling very well here and am happy at Bayern. Don't go writing that I want to join Barcelona, because that's not the case."
Robben has so far appeared in two of the three league games this season for his side, scoring against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamburger-SV-c39485 in his team’s 5-0 triumph of the Red Shorts. The player is in doubt for Bayern’s next league game against FC Kaiserslautern.
