Bayern Munich’s Breno injured in house blaze, Franck Ribery collects praise – Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes is all praise for his winger Franck Ribery after the player was in the thick of action during his team’s 2-0 win over Schalke on Sunday. The manager also confirmed about Bruno’s injury which he caught in a house blaze
and has been admitted to a nearby hospital.
Ribery played an outstanding game against the Royal Blues on Sunday, September 18, allowing his side to complete their eighth straight win of the season so far. Bayern went in front in the 21st minute through Nils Petersen. The lead was doubled
by Thomas Muller in the 75th minute.
The Frenchman showed gratitude to Heynckes for acknowledging his game-play against Schalke. The winger returned the favour, praising his mananger for working with the team in best possible manner. Ribery iterated his desire of winning the Bundesliga title
this season. He also hailed goalkeeper Manuel Neuer for staying firm despite getting a hostile reception from the Schalke fans.
Neuer left his hometown club during the summer in favour of the Bundesliga giants. It has not gone down too well with the Schalke fans. While it was Neuer’s first trip to Veltins Arena since he left the club in the summers, to his credit, he stayed calm
and collected.
Heynckes, while talking to the local press, stated about Ribery: “He did not do this last season. Franck was world class in attack and his defending was even better.”
The manager believes that the 28-year-old was breathtaking with his display in the last game and has already improved upon his performances from the 2010/11 season. Heynckes hoped that the French international would continue in the same vein of form without
getting injured.
Breno, on the other hand, has received the necessary initial treatment and is safe after suffering burns in the house blaze. The defender landed at Allianz-Arena in 2008 and has summed up 21 league appearances for the club so far.
