Bayern Munich’s Christian Nerlinger admits Arjen Robben is doubtful for Freiburg clash
Bayern Munich Sporting Director Christian Nerlinger has admitted that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 is still a doubt for the Bundesliga clash against SC Freiburg this weekend. He also claimed that striker Mario Gomez has recovered from the muscle
injury he suffered in against FC Kaiserslautern and will be available.
The Munich giants will face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Freiburg-c40462 this Saturday in a Bundesliga clash at Allianz Arena and will be looking to maintain the good run so far in the season. The former German champions are currently leading the standings table
with nine points and with three wins from four matches.
Nerlinger claimed that Arjen Robben has been recovering well in the past few days but is unsure whether he will be available for the weekend clash against SC Freiburg. He insisted that the club has already had some bad experiences
with groin injuries but insists that this does not look that bad.
“Robben is better but I don't know if it's enough for the game against Freiburg. The main thing is that it won't be a long running story with him. We've already had unpleasant experiences with these groin injuries in the past.
But now it looks quite good for him,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
However, the Director revealed that start striker Mario Gomez will be available for the next fixture on Saturday. He said that the striker has been declared fit for the match and will be available.
“Mario used the break (from international duty) well,” he continued.
Nerlinger further added that Bayern have some very difficult games coming up and need all their players to be fit. He said that success can only be achieved if all the key players remain fit for the remainder of the campaign.
“We have a block of games in front of us which will challenge us but could also see us lay the foundations for a successful season,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich downed FC Kaiserslautern 3-0 in an away fixture on August 27 before the international break to claim the top spot.
