Bayern Munich defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Van Buyten has claimed that he will stay at the club for the next season and will fight for his place in the starting line-up next season. The defender has played down rumours that he will leave the
club this summer and added that he is very much in the plans for the next campaign.
The Belgian international is set to lose his place in the starting line-up as Bayern continue their pursuit to sign Manchester City defender Jerome Boateng. The Bavarians have been linked with a host of defenders in the past few
weeks including Barcelona’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752.
Buyten admitted that he has had a difficult past few seasons but insisted that he is well prepared and fully fit for the next campaign. He stated that he still has a few years left in him and wants to give his all for the club.
The former Hamburg SV player said that he would welcome any new signings and is ready to compete for the starting place. He added that any new players would add to the depth of the squad which is always better for the club.
“I had many difficult situations; it was the same discussion every year. But I'm still here. Last year I missed because of some problems of the preparation that I've noticed. Now I'm doing with it. This is important. I feel stronger
than a year ago. If you're fit, you make fewer mistakes, there is less criticism,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The 33-year old maintained that he is still hungry to win trophies and insisted that winning the Bundesliga is the team’s foremost goal next season.
“I think of them now. Only once it comes to the goals of FC Bayern. So, back to win titles and then about my future. I just want to give only my best,” he concluded.
Daniel van Buyten has made 173 appearances for Bayern Munich in his five years with the club and has scored 23 goals in the process.
