Bayern Munich’s Ivica Olic demands more first team action at Allianz-Arena – Bundesliga News
Having made a successful recovery from his knee injury, Bayern Munich striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivica-Olic-c17399 has expressed frustration at limited first team opportunities. The player intends to leave the club if Jupp Heynckes continues to prefer him on the bench.
Olic was out injured for most part of the 2010/11 season and recently returned to league action against Hertha http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536.
The striker came on as a second half substitute in the 75th minute, replacing Mario Gomez. Die Roten won that game by a comfortable 4-0 margin.
Olic was also a part of Bayern’s travelling squad for their Champions League game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003, but came back without spending a single minute on the pitch.
The Croatian international has made his intentions clear of leaving Allianz-Arena, if he is not offered a permanent place in the starting XI. Olic’s presence is currently shadowed behind the likes of Mario Gomez, Nils Petersen and Thomas Muller.
Bayern manager Jupp Heynckes admitted of player’s frustration, advising him to be patient. At the same time, he told that the Reds are already going in surplus and the Croatian will have to fight in order to win a place in the starting line-up.
While talking to Goal.com regarding his possible departure, the 32-year-old striker also enthused, "With each workout I feel a little bit better. But I was disappointed that I could not play from the beginning today. In the end I was happy to come on for
a half hour."
He concluded the talks by saying, "I always hope that I will play. I was injured a long time, maybe I need to have more patience. Nevertheless, I feel well and I've always said that I would not be happy if I did not play. And I will say it again now. When
I see that I am no longer being given playing time, then I have to think about a change.”
Olic, like his teammate http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521, has had an injury plagued career with the Bavarian giants and has only managed a mere 39 league appearances during his two-year stay.
