Bayern Munich defender, Jerome Boateng, has been hit with a two-match ban, following an incident in the game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hannover-96-c39492 on Sunday. The defender was involved in a brawl with Hannover winger, Sergio Pinto, ending up with a red card to his name.

The brawl started with a clash between Bayern Munich’s Rafinha and Hannover’s Sergio Pinto. Players from both sides made the matters worse by getting involved. Christian Schulz was seen pushing Toni Kroos, prompting Boateng to react in his stead. The defender
got hold of Schulz’s neck, forcing the referee to show him a straight red card.
Boateng’s dismissal was later challenged by the Bavarian officials, but the challenge was denied by the German Football Association. The DFB thought that Boateng’s offense was not good for sports and should fulfil his two-match punishment.

A statement on Bayern’s official website read, "The player, coach, sporting director, and board of FC Bayern have decided to accept this verdict. We nevertheless expressly point out that the entire incident was triggered only by the totally exaggerated and
theatrical performance of the Hannover player http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Pinto-c33094."
It was further stated, "First, the Hannover player http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toni-Kroos-c35425], and then - only in response - our player Boateng pushed back. Schulz received a yellow card, Boateng a red."
The 23-year-old has been in outstanding touch for the Bavarians since landing at Allianz-Arena this summer but will have to sit out of the next two league games. He was acquired from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
