Bayern Munich’s Karl Hopfner insists the team is ready for the Champions League play-off
Bayern Munich’s Vice-Chairman of the Executive Board Karl Hopfner has insisted that the team is ready for the UEFA Champions League play-off against FC Zurich on Wednesday. He stated that the club is determined to play in Europe’s
elite club competition this season and will make sure they win convincingly.
Bayern Munich will take on FC Zurich on Wednesday in the Champions League qualifier at the Allianz Arena. The match will be the first of the two legs and it will determine which side will progress to the group stages of the competition.

Hopfner claimed that the team is not taking the Swiss giants lightly for the clash on Wednesday. He warned his side against complacency and admitted that the opposition is well capable of pulling an upset. He insisted that the
players should play with full confidence and play their natural game.
The Vice-Chairman added that Zurich also have some experience of playing in the Champions League last season and that they played some great games in the previous campaign. He claimed that Jupp Heynckes and the players are ready
for the challenge and remained hopeful that they will emerge victorious at the end of the day.
“They were the Swiss runners-up, meaning they were second to Basel, who we played in the group phase last year, those were tight games and we have been warned. We are looking forward to playing them,” Hopfner was quoted as saying
in an interview.
The Munich giants will play the second-leg of the fixture in Zurich at the Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich next week.
