Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer admits his mistake against Borussia Monchengladbach - Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424 has admitted his mistake against Borussia Monchengladbach that led to his team’s defeat. The two teams met each other on Sunday, August 7, at Allianz Arena and Munich were highly unimpressive against the underdogs.
Igor de Camargo’s 62nd minute headed goal, resulting from a mistake committed by the newly recruited goalkeeper, proved to be the decisive factor of the match.
Neuer was handed over his Bundesliga debut by the Manager Jupp Heynckes despite being declared unfit. The 25-year-old suffered from a stomach bug just moments ahead of the game but the manager decided to go in with his number one choice, who certainly didn’t
have the best of debuts.
Munich were favourites to win the encounter but the Foals kept the hosts on the back foot for most part of the 90 minutes. The Bavarians took a long time to get into their stride and created several chances for themselves. Jupp Heynckes’ side failed to take
advantage of the number of chances and went into the half time with the deadlock yet to be broken.
In an interview to a local news channel, the former Schalke man enthused, "It went wrong, we did not take our chances. And then my mistake led to the goal. I look stupid.” The manager also added, "http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-c23383 had stomach flu before the game, perhaps that is one
reason why his concentration levels dropped."
Heynckes reckoned that his team took the opposition extremely lightly and had to suffer at the end. He defended his goalie by saying that the 25-year-old was already suffering from stomach problem and might not be feeling well during the match. Manager added
that his team will bounce back from this defeat and would come out a lot harder in their next game.
Neuer represented Schalke during the last season and made 34 Bundesliga appearances before parting ways with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues. He has 20 international caps to his name until now since making his debut for the German national side.
Munich will next be up against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 on Saturday, August 13.
