Bayern Munich defender Rafinha has offered his support to teammate Manuel Neuer and backs him to be a great player. He claimed that the fans should show some respect towards the player and give him a chance to prove himself.
The Brazilian stated that he is confident that Neuer will become a fan’s favourite in the years to come and added that the player’s ability is unquestionable.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-c23383 Neuer faced criticism from a small section of Bayern supporters when he played his first match for the Bavarians, a friendly clash against Trentino Auswahl. The small group held banners which read that they are not willing
to accept him at the club because of the bitter rivalry with Schalke 04.
Rafinha praised the German international and claimed that he is a true professional. He stated that he has known Neuer for a long time as they played together at Schalke and urged the fans to support the shot stopper.
“I have known Manuel for more than six years. He is a wonderful person and player. The fans have to be totally respectful; they have the right to have their opinion, because without them we could not be successful,” he was quoted
as saying in an interview.
However, the defender remained confident that the goalkeeper would definitely win the hearts of the fans when he performs at his best in the upcoming season.
“I think that Manuel will gain their support over time. He will give so much to the team and soon his fine saves will earn cheers from the fans,” the former Schalke man continued.
The Brazilian international also admitted that his reputation is not good with the Bayern supporters as he is widely known as a troublemaker. He played down such reports and vowed to remain away from any controversy.
“If I had been such a troubled player, they would have kicked me out. I know what matters in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904, how the people there are and what is required,” he concluded.
Rafinha joined Bayern Munich this summer for a reported fee of 5.5 million Euros from Italian side Genoa.
