Bayern Munich midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Takashi-Usami-c34524 has stated that playing the European champions Barcelona in the Audi Cup 2011 final was a great experience for him. He claimed that it was a very intense game and everything went smoothly
and he under no pressure at all. The midfielder also hailed Barcelona’s style of play and praised their attacking instinct.
Takashi Usami left former club Gamba Osaka to join Bayer Munich on a one-year loan deal with the former Bundesliga champions having the option to buy the Japanese midfielder in next summer’s transfer window.
The attacking midfielder claimed that the game was very intense and a great experience for a young player to play in front of the home fans against one of the best teams in the world. He admitted that he was nervous before the
match started but everything went great and he was unfazed by task of facing the Catalans.
“It was tough. I felt it was very intense, so it was good for me to play the whole game. Before the game, I thought I'd be nervous, but I wasn't. Even in such a big occasion, it went smoothly,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gamba-Osaka-c39399 midfielder claimed that he has to play with confidence if he wants to get more opportunities at the highest stage.
“I might not get too many chances and if I get nervous I can't play my football. So, I used this sense of immediacy in a positive way, I relaxed and I think it went well,” the player continued.
Usami was all praise for Barcelona in the end and insisted that they deserve to be the best side in Europe. He added that it is very hard to earn possession when you play against the Spanish giants but was satisfied with his performance.
“In general, yes. The way Barcelona controls the game makes it very hard to get the ball, even when you understand what they're doing,” he concluded.
Audi Cup 2011 was the second edition of the tournament at Allianz Arena. The first was one by Bayern when they defeated Manchester United in the final in 2009.
