Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller plays down Arjen Robben competition
Bayern Munich midfielder Thomas Muller has played down competition from teammate Arjen Robben. The player claimed that every player has to work hard for his place in the team and that it is up to the manager to decide which player
will be in the starting line-up and who will be on the bench.
Thomas Muller and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 will fight for places as Bayern Munich will face Manchester City at the City of Manchester Stadium. Muller is out with an injury whereas Robben is expected to start the match as the English side is
in a must win situation. The reverse fixture resulted in a 2-0 win for the Munich giants at Allianz Arena.
Muller claimed that he has never seen Arjen Robben as his competitor at the club. The midfielder stated that he learns a lot from the Dutchman in training and insisted that the two players can play in the same team with a slightly
different formation. He added every player has to work hard for his place in the squad and Robben has nothing to prove.
“I've never seen Arjen as competition. I see him as my team-mate. We don't want to be slandered for distorting the competition. Therefore, we will work hard,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The German international also voiced his admiration towards http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629. He added that he feels privileged to be shortlisted in the 23 man list for World Player of the Year but is sure that the title belongs
to either Messi or Ronaldo again. He admitted that Messi has won it already and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldo-c31734 deserves it this time.
“I am very proud that I was chosen for the second time in the top 23 footballers in the world. It has me totally defeated that I will not win. [But] Messi has already won so much; maybe they should give the title to Ronaldo for
once,” he concluded
Thomas Muller and Arjen Robben will face each other in the Euro 2012 with their respective national sides as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 are drawn in the same group.
