Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has responded firmly at the menacing disapproval from Bayer Leverkusen, following the pursuit of Lars Bender.
Chief Executive of Leverkusen, Wolfgang Holzhauser is furious with the Bayern manager, Jupp Heynckes, for sending a message to his attacking midfielder after he scored for the German team at the European Championships 2012.
The Bayer chief claimed that he was amazed by the Bayern coach when he texted the attacker by an SMS. It was quite shocking for the CEO.
"I am very surprised to see Jupp Heynckes being able to text an SMS by now," Holzhauser was quoted as saying in an interview.
Rummenigge has refuted his rival’s suggestions and stated that his side were looking to sign players of the similar sort such as Bender. He even advised the Werkself outfit to be less tense and be self-assured regarding the matter.
He further stressed that Der FCB outfit were openly known to target a holding midfielder and they have shortlisted a few candidates.
"I recommend that Leverkusen take things in a more confident manner than right now. Everyone knows that we are watching the transfer market for players in that position (defensive midfielder),” Rummenigge said.
The director said that they were very calm in the transfer market and are not fazed by the accusations. He speculated that the German international fits the bill of a player they are looking for but these things take time and everyone
needs to be patient.
"I can only say that we are pretty relaxed in this case. We could imagine that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lars-Bender-c21663 will be a target for Bayern Munich, but we have to wait,” he stated.
The Die Roten official argued that every player has a right price and there is no such thing that the player is not for sale. If the price is too good to be true, the respective player will join your ranks.
"We know that there is a price for every player and if Bayern Munich is willing to pay that price, it is possible that the player will pull on a Bayern shirt but we have to calm down," he concluded.
