Bayern hopeful of Robben extension

The Munich giants are confident that Arjen Robben will sign a new contract with the club despite limited opportunities this season.
Bavarian Sporting Director Christian Nerlinger is hopeful that Robben will sign a new deal with the club after speculation over the player’s exit in next year’s transfer window. He claimed that the player is important to the club
and the side wants to keep its best players.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toni-Kroos-c35425 and Thomas Muller have cemented their place in the first-team after a
series of impressive performances this year and will give the Dutchman a run for his money as the season unfolds.
Nerlinger stated that Bayern has a world-class squad and the club wants to keep its key players. He insisted that Robben has always been a vital part of the side and his performances have been crucial in guiding the side to the
top. The chief admitted that the winger is still a brilliant player despite his injury problems in recent times and Bayern are interested in keeping him for the future.
“Overall, we have a very well-balanced team, and Arjen Robben is an important component of that. We've not forgotten what he's already done for Bayern, and we know what he can still do for us,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The Sporting Director hinted that the club will offer the Dutchman a long-term deal, not a one-year extension as reported in the media. He admitted that Robben was the star when Bayern reached the final of the UEFA Champions League
two years ago and that he is capable of doing that again.
“We respect and value him enormously. Bayern is well known for a desire to keep the best players for the long term, and that applies to Arjen. He'll play a major role for Bayern Munich beyond next summer, and hopefully not just
for one year, but for the long term,” he concluded.
