Bayern Munich’s director of sport Matthias Sammer stressed that the Bundesliga side is in charge of all the board members who work together to help the club move forward. He also claimed that there is no dictatorship at the German
team as all the directors collaborate.
The announcement came after former manager Louis Van Gaal blasted Der FCB, and stated that the Bavarian outfit is being run solely by club president Uli Hoeness. The 1996 'European Player of the Year' conceded that in the last
four months Hoeness, Karl Hopfner and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge all have worked collectively.
"We don’t have a one man show at Bayern. My experience in the last 120 days tells me that Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Karl Hopfner and Uli Hoeness all reach decisions together," Sammer was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Borussia Dortmund and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan star further added that if he was in Van Gaal’s shoes, he would not have singled out one person just to criticise him publicly. He said that Hoeness has been hit out at unfairly as he
was not responsible for the sacking of Van Gaal.
"If I were in his [Van Gaal's] position, I wouldn’t have named who is allegedly solely responsible here just to attack this exact person," he added.
Sammer maintained that the top three in the board all decided to part with the veteran trainer. He commented that he would not discuss such matters in the press as they should be confidential.
"It did not work that way. Hoeness was not the only one who made the decision regarding Van Gaal's sacking. I wouldn't have said that to the media if I were in his place," he mused.
Van Gaal did well when he joined Bayern and helped them lift the league crown and led them to the UEFA Champions League final in 2010. Unfortunately, he was let go last year due to poor performance of the team.
