Juventus FC star goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gianluigi-Buffon-c14833 insisted that Bayern Munich would not be happy to have drawn against the Serie A club in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. The experienced player accepts that the German
side have a better record than them in Europe’s premier cup competition.
On the other hand, the veteran stopper claimed that Juventus are still a top team and cause problems for the league leaders. He stated that the Italian club should not change their tactics in the competition and stick with the
pro-active gameplay, and earn the respect of their rivals in the process.
Moreover, the shot-stopper suggested until now they have succeeded in their plan. He further added that they were bound to face a top team like Bayern in the last eight of the Champions League. He said that Die Roten will be cautious
of their tie with Juve as they have a good reputation in the continent and are respected by all top European teams.
"We should approach the Champions League in the same way we’ve done up until now, hoping to gain the plaudits for a pro-active style of play, whilst also looking to gain the respect of our opponents. By and large we’ve achieved
this objective," he added.
"In the quarter-finals it's only right for us to encounter a team with a worldwide reputation like Bayern. I don’t think they’ll be happy to face us, meaning we’re respected and possess a certain fear factor,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
"It will be tough to try and win it,” he mused.
Buffon revealed that it will be a hard task to eliminate the Bundesliga outfit. He said that only three or four teams have a better record in the competition recently than Juve, and that includes Bayern who have reached the final
twice in the last three seasons. The first leg will be played on April 2 at the Allianz Arena.
