Bayliss wants Lanka to play against other countries
Another official has joined in the chorus against the number of matches that India and Sri Lanka have been playing over the years now. Sri Lankan coach, Trevor Bayliss has said that it was time for the Sri Lankans to start playing against the other teams in the world in order to gain more experience.
Currently, India and Sri Lanka are a part of the Micromax tri-series which also has http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, and a couple of ODI series in India and Sri Lanka respectively.
Bayliss was slightly diplomatic in his assessment, as he said that India is the top team in the world and so it does make sense to play against the side. However, he added that despite that, it would be good to play some of the other good sides in the world as well.
Bayliss pointed out, "In the three years that I have been here, we have only played http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in one one-day game. To play the Englands and the Australias a little more will be a good experience for the guys."
The coach, however, had no problem in switching between two different modes of the game in such a short span. The third Test match between India and Sri Lanka had ended on Saturday, and the first game of the tri-series begins on Tuesday.
Earlier this week, Harbhajan Singh had been critical of the fact that the two sides were playing each other too often. Harbhajan
had said that it was because of this familiarity that the batsmen were getting used to the similar-looking bowling and hence, it was difficult to get the wickets.
