i think a bag would be great. just have to know what her type is. try to find out what her interests are. if you don't know, bag would be a safe one. flip flops would also be nice.;)

I'd go for a book.

Encourage her to read a book in this age of computers, truckloads of TV channels, and terrible grammar brought on by text messaging and internet chat.

Girls at 10 really vary with their interests. They are coming out of that little girl phase and working their way into becoming tweens. I would put together a little giftbag of some nail polish, lip gloss, and maybe some hair stuff.

Most girls that age absolutely love Hannah Montana stuff, there is an entire line of make-up, games, clothes appropriate for little girls. Kids that age also like high school musical items.
