Be Devious hot favourite for 105-106 Capital FM Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race
Be Devious is likely to dominate proceedings in the 105-106 Capital FM Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race at Sedgefield in England on Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Most of his opponents have not even raced once in their career, which will give him a great
advantage at the end of the day.
The four-year-old gelding is relatively new to the sport, but he has raced in different conditions in his career until now. He has always been competitive and the good to firm going at Sedgefield will definitely suit his running style more than others. This
is why, the bookmakers have rated him as the outright favourite to succeed with a starting price of 15 to 8.
On the other hand, Kolaphos and Aura Bora are well bred runners and they have got a very good chance of making an impression in the race. However, they will be making their debut today, thus they will be under immense pressure.
There are also a few other runners, who have represented their respective trainers in some events, but their performances have been below par, which will discourage the punters from risking money on them.
Considering the overall situation, it seems that no one will be able to challenge Be Devious in the race. He will definitely get the attention of the punters, who will be looking to win some easy money over him at the end of the day.
The Alan Swinbank’s trainee first appeared onto the scene in April 2012 at Sedgefield. The race was affected by rain, thus it was an opportunity for a few runners to make an impression back then.
Although, Be Devious was unable to win that event, yet he displayed very good speed and secured the runner up spot in the end. He seemed to be in a better position next time around, but failed to take the top spot once again. His speed was not bad at all
though, as he finished as third.
In his most recent race, Barathea’s son had to cope up with a soft ground once more. However, he did not have any major problems and secured the second spot in the end. He was partnered by Brian Hughes in all his three outings and the seasoned jockey will
once again be accompanying him today.
