Apart from his teammates’ possible collapse against Lankan spinners on turning a track, his recent form in the longest version of the sport is one of the biggest concerns for Australia at the moment.
During his previous Test outing, the Ashes series 2011/2011, he displayed a disastrous show with the bat, collecting just 113 runs in eight innings.
However, Ponting’s fantastic performance in the recent OIDs against Sri Lanka has infused a new confidence into the 36-year-old batsman. The two time World Cup winning captain has vowed to produce something special and contribute to Australia’s winning cause
in the imminent Test clash against Tillakaratne Dilshan-led troop.
