I'm looking after a friends dog this week and just got back from taking it for a walk. There was no way I was going anywhere near the 'deposit' he made. I'll have to remember; no more liver for him in future!!!

  1. Currently I live in the country on a 5 acre plot so no I don't pick it up.

If I lived in the city and had my (or someone else's) dog on a walk... If it's still hot... I leave it. The p**p or the dog... one (maybe both) will be left.

    LoL

  2. TOTALLY off the topic.. but that one girl said "i know i wouldn't want some other dog's p**p in my yard!!!"  which made me remeber:

When i was a kid, i remember someone walked their dog past our house and their dog shat in our yard and the owner just left it.

  3. lol i leave it if no ones around shhh!

i wudnt pick it up for fun, although some of the people whove awnserd below might say otherwise.

  4. I ALWAYS clear up after my dogs.  I wouldn't want my neglect to be a contribution to someones blindness. When the poo dries and breaks up, the wind blows it around.  Dust in your eyes and mouth are very unhealthy and dogs mess can cause blindness.

  5. Yes, I always pick it up. So when people moan about dog owners not cleaning up after their dog I know they are not talking about me.

  6. Always pick up unless it is in the woods away from the path.  I once saw someone pick up and then throw it in the woods - you may as well not bother if you are going to do that!!

  7. i always pick up my dogs mess don't own a dog if your not prepared to. its irresponsible if you don't

  8. well I pick it up if someones around but if I dont have a baggy adn no ones around I leave it

  9. It's good fertilizer. I never could understand why people don't want it around. And, all sorts of misfortunes could happen to a person bending over while holding the leash of a large dog. Safety first.

  10. i had to leave it one time as it stunk so bad and it was so soft i nearly threw up.

  11. yes i do, i,d hate it if i carried dog poo into my home, so if you don,t pick it up someone else might tread in it. also were i live you can get free p**p bags from the council, so there isn,t any excuse not to clear up after your dog,

  12. Unless it's too dark to see (I know I should carry a light) or she's too far away in a field somewhere, yes I *always* pick it up. Who else is going to and why should they?

EDIT: I have even waited and asked a passerby for a bag when my shy dog who almost never goes on her walks anyway, went twice and I only brought one bag and had already disposed of it! And that was on a rural path where many people do just leave their dog's droppings.

  13. I pick up 100% of the time even if it is a runny mess, it is your responsibility to clean up after your dog.  Why should other people have to step into dog mess because you do not want to pick it up. I consider picking up the mess to be a responsible thing to do.

  14. I always pick up my dog's p**p unless i forgot to bring a bag!!!  otherwise it's disgusting if you leave it!  i know i wouldn't want some other dog's p**p in my yard!!!!

  15. When we go for our walks we walk through a neighborhood to get to a dead end street with no houses on it. If my dog poos in the residential part of the street, I ALWAYS pick it up. But if it's in the field or on the street that no one lives on, I leave it.

There are a lot of dogs and kids on my street. It would be awful if the neighbors didn't pick up after their dogs! We all pick up on the busy road. I HATE it when someone doesnt. i have one of those baggy carriers hooked onto my leash handle. I will take one out and hand it to the person that didnt pick up after their dog. It usually embarrasses them enough for my liking. I've only had to do it a few times though.

  16. if its in a place where people walk i do. but if its in a bush or in a field then no i dont.

  17. Most of the time i do, even if there's no one around i will still pick it up. If one of my mutts has legged it to far and squats i wont unless there's other people about. I don't see what the problem is really, it rots away naturally, Yet were supposed to pick it up in "plastic" bags. If its in a park/pavement fair enough, but out in the country does it really matter.

  18. if i have a bag, i'll pick it up.  if i can't find it or don't have a bag, i'll leave it.  sometimes i'll bury it with leaves if it's not in anyones direct path.

  19. I always clean it but my neighbors dog always poops in our yard and they never clean it so when my dog goes to their yard and poops I just leave it.

  20. Any responsible dog owner will always pick up after their dog.

I hate to see any dog muck on the streets, and have confronted people many times that have been going to walk away and leave it.

I tend to find waving a doggie doo bag at them and shouting,

"Did you forget your poo bags?" tends to shame them into cleaning it up.

  21. not allways

  22. never no 1 in my neighborhood picks it up

  23. For the people that 'forget to take a bag'... That is just a convenient excuse not to pick it up. There is no excuse not to pick up after your dog, even if it is somewhere where no one will see.

There will come a time when you are walking and stand in some poo that someone left because no one could see. Would you still think it is acceptable then?

  24. I always pick it up unless its like in a bush i no that sounds weird but my dog likes to p**p like on bushes or even on trees he has to have sumthin under him its weird but yeah unless it somewhere where i can hardley reach it i pick it up

  25. Yes I always make the effort to pick up the 'Dog Sausages' / Dog Turds that are deposited on the ground by our Lurcher x Whippet ***** (Female) & our Lurcher Dog (Male) ! I call them BOTH 'Sausage Factories' ! It does not matter if it is DARK ! I carry a Torch so that I can see the Dogs & exactly where they do there 'Business' if it is dark / night ! I always make sure that I have more than enough 'Dog Poo Bags' be they Dog Poo Bags, Babies Nappy Bags or Good Old Fashioned Supermarket Carrier Bags e.g. Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury or Tesco ! I even make sure that I have more than enough strong Kitchen Roll to clean / wipe up any Dog 'Curry Sauce' if they have a loose Bowel Movement that our two dogs may have deposited on the ground ! I put this in a 'Dog Poo Bag' & then I dispose of this in a Dog Waste Bin or if I can't find one of these or if I do not know where a Dog Waste Bin is then I will place the 'Dog Poo Bag' in a Rubbish Bin making sure that the 'Dog Poo Bag' is really well wrapped up so that people who use the Rubbish Bin afterwards or whoever empties the Rubbish Bin will not end up with Dog Poo on them !

  26. I admit it, I leave it.

But then I walk my dogs in areas that are not marked to clean up after them either.

I rarely walk them around our neighborhood and when I do they'll pee on anything and everyrthing but won't make a mess while on leash. They wait till they get home.

We go to the dog park daily and since it butts up to an 1100 acre park with roughly 10 miles of trails for horses I put to good use it'd be pretty silly to try to enforce me to clean up after my dogs when the horses go everywhere and no ones cleaning up after them.

When we travel we find either remote areas to let the dogs stretch their legs so they don't come in contact with anything left by another dog they shouldn't or empty lots in buisness districts.
