Question:

Beach Days on Carnival Cruises?

I am possibly going on a Bahamas cruise with Carnival on the Sensation. When you go to port, like in Nassau, you don't have to do an excursion right? You can just go to the beach? Or do you have to pay to do anything?

  1. yeah im going to the bahamas in april on the carnival triumph.

i went on the victory last year, and didnt feel like doing an excursion so i just took a bus to the nearest beach.

have fun in the bahamas! i know i will :D

  2. you can just go to the beach but something really fun to do is to get day passes to go to the resort atlantis and its great. but if u want to go to the beach you can many people do that ans still have a great time! have fun

  3. you don't have to do excursions.  you pay to do excursions in advance so if you have an island that you didn't pay for an excursion you can just go to the beach or go shopping.  that's what a lot of people do.  My family tries to do at least one excursion, and then we just go to the beaches on the other islands.  The only thing you would have to pay for is your taxi, if you choose to have a taxi to take you to the beach.

  4. I agree with jonas... getting a day pass for Atlantis is a great idea! Check it out here: http://www.atlantis.com/ -- they have everything there!

When I make it back there, that's where I'm going!

    have fun!

  5. You don't have to book an excursion.

You can grab a cab and ask to go the free beach but the nicest beaches will have a fee.

Remember, most everything on the ship will be closed when your in port.

You can just stroll around the market if you want to.

  6. You don't have to book an excursion to go ashore, but you need to let the passengers that did book excursions off first, usually about an hour. You can go ashore without having to pay for anything, and either if you're docked or tendering, you can go back and forth to land as many times as you like, the ship is your home away from home. And yes, if there is a beach near by, definately use it.  I usually like to be back on board early and have a couple beers on the Lido Deck before formal dinner!!!

    Bon Voyage!!!
