Just out of curiosity sake, I live near the beach and when i go i notice every so often during the course of the day, the lifeguard will stand up and swing their arms back and forth, what does that mean? what are they doing besides the obvious swinging thier arms.

  1. They are just stretching... there is no meaning behind this :)

  2. They're just keeping alert. They have to sit up in the chair with usually nothing to do for a few hours at a time. At most places, your actually encouraged to do this, as it'll keep you awake and focused.

  3. they are avoiding fatigue. sitting there slows circulation. if           there were a problem, numb arms wouldnt help
