Beach Volleyball Special Report: Phil Dalhausser of U.S. tops Men’s 2010 SWATCH FIVB World Tour Awards
The top-seeded American Beach Volleyball star Phil Dalhausser enjoyed an amazing form in the current SWATCH FIVB season. Dalhausser has been paired with Todd Rogers for last five seasons and the two top-guns of beach volleyball world have rocked the whole
scene by an array of achievements. The American pair thrashed the Brazilian rule in game and wrote a new history for beach volleyball.
They started the campaign with Brasilia Open in Brazil in April, 2010. The outstanding performance and exhibition of incredible play graced them with gold-medal victory. Since then, the duo never stopped making shocking waves and grabbed world-wide attention
for their brilliant work. They remained under the limelight and pushed everyone behind by achieving the maximum number of titles in 2010 season. They brought great honour and enough revenue to their country. The U.S. pair won 75 out of 86 matches in 2010,
and ended the season with 23 matches winning streak.
Phil Dalhausser, who is also popular with the nickname of “Thin Beast,” has a series of accomplishments to his name. He was named the circuit’s most outstanding player for his overall good performance. He proved his excellence in every aspect of the game
and attained the attributes of top offensive player, the best hitter, setter and blocker.
Dalhausser established a good reputation during his career. He was acknowledged as the circuit’s best blocker for three consecutive years from 2006-2008. He clutched the same title in 2010 again by repeating the amazing run of his game. Likewise he captured
the top-hitter’s spot in 2007-2010 for four years in a row. From 2008-2010, the label of top offensive was associated with Dalhausser as well. The year 2009 and 2010 saw him as the best-setter of the game.
The 6” 9’ tall, 200-pound Phil Dalhausser is in the 30th year of his age and aspires to stay ahead in the game. The partner Todd Rogers has been a great support for Dalhausser and the duo picked up success in most of their appearances. They successfully
paved their way to the “final four” stage in 12 FIVB appearances in 2010 season. They seized nine titles in a single season, which is the maximum number of titles captured by any beach volleyball pair in both men and women’s categories.
Todd Rogers is equally talented and very smart player. He played a vital role in the over-all achievement of their team. Rogers has got the knack of the game with amazing defence techniques, and he also topped the defensive voting in 2007 and 2008. He settled
down for the position of FIVB’s top-setter in 2005. Rogers followed the footsteps of his associate Dalhausser and finished second to him in current year’s most outstanding player voting.  The two players have great timing and chemistry which enabled them to
end the season with a 23-match winning streak.
Before the start of 2010 season, the pair was known as Olympic winners as they proved their endeavour in the 2008 Olympic Game in Beijing by securing gold medal. Now they have Olympic, World, Tour Championship titles in their custody. In the past, Brazilian
Emanuel Rego and Ricardo Santos were the only ones occupying top spots in three major events of beach volleyball.
On the basis of great run in the current season, Phil Dalhausser has been nominated for the most title awards than any other player in the world. The player has received huge appreciation from fans in this regard. The SWATCH FIVB World Tour Calendar is done
with men’s events, there are only two women’s tournament left to be covered in next two months. The season is about to end and next year the regular campaign will start in April.
