Beach Volleyball Update: Andrina Namata and Mercy Tabitha are to leave for Kenya International Championship
The amazing duo of Andrina Namata and Mercy Tabitha from Uganda has formed a very good reputation locally and internationally, with a display of great beach volleyball skills. The pair is up for another big challenge at the Kenya International Beach Volleyball
Championship in city of Mombasa, this weekend. Andrina/Tabitha have made a series of victories in this season and currently they enjoy great form. They are scheduled to leave tomorrow (Thursday). The teams from Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya and another pair from
Uganada will also show up at the event.
Andrina/Tabitha competed in the same tournament last year but fell out at the quarter final stage. This time around, Andrina and Mercy have improved a lot and they are totally shaped up to crush everything in their way. Although, the home-side has surely
got the competitive edge of local beaches and supportive crowd but Ugandan players are determined to push them behind and make a difference.
The president of Uganda’s Beach Volleyball Commission had spent enough time on preparation and he has faith in players. The president expressed views about duo,
“At the moment the pair is the best in the country. They have been together for long and I’m sure they will do their best to come back with wins. “
Andrina and Tabitha are tipped to win the championship, for being the top team in the squad. The second team from Uganda comprises of Diana Agaba and Mariam Nakamanya and they are also prepared to create a buzz in the championship. Likewise, in the men’s
division debutants Richard Tamale, Hannington Nsubuga and Deo Nsereko and Henry Bbaale will defend country’s name.
In the recent memory, Andrina Namata and Mercy Tabitha performed in an exquisite way at the 4th leg of club beer national beach volleyball circuit and clinched success. They exhibited great skills and got their hands on the title trophy. Quite
interestingly, they ousted Kenyan pair of Julia Sakaya and Anita Yelena in 1-0 exciting final. Moreover, Andrina and Tabitha also visited Mombasa last month and it is something which provides them lot of acumen to perform better against Kenyan pair in the
upcoming championship.
Andrina Namata and Mercy Tabitha will be playing in front of a different audience. The air is full of uncertainty and suspense at this time, anyhow soon as the championship starts, it is hoped that the better team will find its way to the top.
