Beach Volleyball Update: Thailand opens the beach extravaganza in Phuket
The Koran Beach in Phuket, Thailand is the host of wonderful beach activities this month. The major attraction for the beach volleyball duos and enthusiastic fans is the Phuket Open Tournament, which is underway in full intensity.
The US$190,000 Phuket Thailand Open Championship is the last stop on the SWATCH FIVB Women World Tour Calendar. The tournament is powered by PTT Public Company Limited. This tournament is solely dedicated to ladies’ competitions. The Phuket Open Tournament
is scheduled to run from 2-7 November, 2010 on Karon Beach, Thailand. The tournament has given a big boost to Thailand’s province of Phuket in terms of tourism. The Phuket Open Tournament is Asia’s leading festival of Beach Volleyball and every year it attracts
a whole lot of sponsors and supporting agencies. In addition, it is the major attraction for beach volleyball professionals and fans around the world.
The 6-day beach volleyball action has the same set up like other SWATCH FIVB tournaments. The tournament opened with the Country Quota play-offs between the countries with more than 4 teams in the championship. Today (Wednesday 3rd November, 2010)
the qualifying round will be played, while the main-draw will run from 4-7 November. The last day of the tournament will feature the important “final four” matches of the tournament and final ranking of players will be revealed. The tournament has no entry
fee to watch the competitions, which is prominent feature of this event. It is definitely a great opportunity for fans to enjoy the un-interrupted fun without any cost. Besides this, the fans can also enjoy the sponsored activities adjacent to the centre court,
which offers different food items and beverages.
The Karon Beach is also hosting number of activities in addition to the main-event of Phuket Open Tournament. An amateur tournament, beer festival and beach volleyball clinics for kids is also part of the campaign. In addition to
the professional beach volleyball players, a wide variety of amateur and aspiring beach volleyball players has also showed up at the Karon Beach in Phuket, Thailand. The Phuket Inter-Hotel Challenge is just another chance for local and international players
to show their talent on the sand. The Inter-Hotel Challenge is sponsored by Federbrau and it will also reach its end on 7th November, 2010.
