Beach Volleyball Update: The upcoming 4th Annual Beach Volleyball Classic on Martin Luther King Jr. weekend
The third Monday of January marks the Martin Luther King Jr. Day in the United States. For the year 2011, the celebrations begin on January 17. In this connection, the Grand Strand Juniors Volleyball Club has planned a unique Beach Volleyball Tournament. The Beach Ball Classic organisers have joined hands with Grand Strand Juniors Volleyball Club to make this fabulous event possible.
Officially, the 4th Annual Myrtle Beach Volleyball Classic will be kicked off on Saturday, 15th January, 2011. The three-day exciting event will continue up till Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 17. The beach volleyball duos from different American states have been preparing to show off their ‘digging and diving’ skills on sands of Myrtle Beach.
The Myrtle Beach Convention Centre will be the host of this activity. The indoor courts have been set-up for the tournament. This is the fourth consecutive year that this event has been taking place at the Myrtle Beach. The last three campaigns were complete success. Likewise, this year it is expected to attract scores of people at the weekend. The fans will enjoy the thrilling action, while players will get a chance to receive huge applause from a bigger audience. This event has a special feature that it will only feature women’s competitions. Around 150 Beach Volleyball duos from six different states will jump on the board to contest their abilities. The tournament will feature rivalries of different age groups, ranging from under-12 category to under-18 category.
Some heated competitions are likely to be staged. Teams are undergoing tough practice sessions, in order to sharpen their skills. It will surely be an incredible show of Beach Volleyball like previous years. The club director of Grand Strand Juniors, Alex Sing says, there will be fierce competitions among teams this year. Alex further added, "The competition will be great. Many of these girls play club volleyball in hopes of getting college scholarships."
USA Volleyball (USAV) has officially sanctioned the 2011 Myrtle Beach Volleyball Classic.
