Beach Volleyball special: Namibia hosts Beach Volleyball Clinic
The Namibian Volleyball Federation is hosting a three-day Beach Volleyball Clinic in Windhoek, Namibia. The purpose of the Beach Volleyball Clinic is train countries on how to organise Beach Volleyball events. It is an international Beach Volleyball Clinic,
which is specially arranged by Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB) in collaboration with Namibian Volleyball Federation. The core aim of this clinic is to offer services to Southern African countries. Officially the event was launched on Thursday,
2nd December, 2010.
The Arebbusch Travel Lodge in the city of Windhoek has been selected as the venue for this activity. The presidents of various national federations and Beach Volleyball directors are attending this clinic. The representatives from South Africa, Lesotho,
Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Mauritius and hosts Namibia have shown up at this event. It is a wonderful learning opportunity for aspiring countries, which plan to host Beach Volleyball events.
The Beach Volleyball Clinic will teach the countries about the nitty-gritty of event management. There are different modules of the course, which are specially designed to educate the participants on how to professionally set up things for Beach Volleyball
events. It is basically an attempt to improve the standards of competitions in African countries.
The FIVB has sent a special instructor who is supposed to conduct the clinic. Christian Didembourg from Belgium is performing his duties as the official FIVB instructor at the Beach volleyball Clinic in Namibia. The FIVB is happy with the arrangement and is
hopeful for the success of this Beach Volleyball Clinic. It will also help the recently launched CAVB Continental Beach Volleyball Cup, which is about to happen. The CAVB Continental Cup provides countries an extra chance to clinch berths in London 2012 Olympic
Games. The Beach Volleyball Clinic has been started at the right time as the coaches and other officiating staff of competition (CAVB) can learn a lot about better ways of hosting the Continental Cup.
