Beach Volleyball update: USA Volleyball is organising Beach CAP Level I course
The United States Volleyball (USAV) is going to organise a beach volleyball training course next week. The USAV has played an instrumental role in promoting the beach volleyball in United States and have given Beach Volleyball a new direction in the region.
Throughout the year, they organise different learning activities for players, coaches and other associated staff. The Beach CAP Level I course is of similar sort, which will be held from December 15-18. The AVCA Convention in Kansas City, Mo will host this
four-day activity. This course is solely for training purposes and the participants will surely get a lot of benefit from it.
This is the second Beach CAP course in the year 2010 in United States. The USAV arranged the first Beach CAP training course in the last month. The two-day training course was held in the city of EI Segundo in Los Angeles, California and it continued from
November 12-14. Some immensely famous international players attended the cadre training course. The participants of the last CAP course are as follows:
UC Irvine- Men’s coach Anna Collier - Olympic beach volleyball coach John Speraw - Beach coach, Dane Selznick - Olympic beach volleyball coach Butch May - 1968 Olympian Angela Rock - 1988 Olympian and Beach coach Tyra Tunrner - USA
After the successful completion of first CAP course, the USAV made another positive move and organised the second CAP Cadre training course. The most prominent feature of this session is that two-time Olympic gold medallist Misty May-Treanor, the daughter
of Butch May will also attend the course. May-Treanor has the core purpose to achieve Beach CAP Level I certification, which will enable her to get the status of Beach CAP cadre. May-Treanor also has the intention to teach future USA Volleyball Coaching Education
course after getting the certification.
The director of beach programs at USA Volleyball, Mr. Ali Wood Lamberson is delighted about Mistay May-Treanor’s participation in the training course. It will certainly add more value to the training course offered by USA Volleyball. He said that Misty’s
participation in USA Volleyball’ training program is another stepping stone for them. The USAV is optimistic about the success of this training course.
