Beach-goers, does your cold last shorter or do you feel better if you go to the beach during a cold?

My dad always recommends this, but is it true? Does the salt in the air have anything to do with it? And how long would I have to be there.

its not true i lived in the beach and having a cold its horrible because you want to drink cold drinks and you cant! it lasts just the same as if you were anywhere else.

I think it helps.  I always go to the beach when I have a cold.....well, I ALWAYS go to the beach no matter what.  

When you swim in the salt water, it helps clear out your sinuses and helps everything drain.  Plus, it's been said that just being outside in the sun and keeping active when you have a cold is good for you.
