Where is a good place mid coast area to holiday with dogs? Looking for quieter places away from crowds in peak time. Any suggestions?

This is a great book with loads of pet friendly accommodation.

  2. I know a wonderful beach that you can take your dogs during the week, it goes out for a long walk on a spit, but you can't take your dogs on the weekend or on public holidays.

It's out at Wellington point, right at the top there is a huge beach

I just thought of another beach where you "may" be able to take your dogs. It's a beach just by Bribie Island, (it's up near caboolture) and the beaches are wonderful. Theres even a little inlet where the sea water gathers thats all still and my dogs love to play in there.

Have fun on your holiday. ^^

  3. The following link is from the same site as another mentioned.. but it focuses on pet friendly parks and beaches:

I hope you have a wonderful holiday with your pets.. My husband, our Maltese Shih Tzu and I are a package deal - if the dog can't come, we don't go!!  ;-)

From our experience, there are lots of great places where you can take your fur-friend. We own a motorhome, so we don't have issues with pet friendly accommodation.. and otherwise it is all pretty straightforward. Many alfresco cafes/coffee shops will allow your pet to sit with you at meal time (Qld law is "pets allowed in outside eating areas as long as store management allow them"). I always ask before sitting. That way, if they say no to the dog, we simply leave and find somewhere where he is welcome.

There are LOTS of great beaches where you can take your dog while on holiday.. some are lead on, some are lead off.. One of our favourites is Labrador Beach (Gold Coast). It is leash on, but there are always lots of other dogs for our boy to bark at and sniff.
