  1. hi..i try to ask Bali local travel agent www.BaliAmazingTour.com

they say that you can swim @ Nusa dua beach...

  2. You should stay away from Kuta, which has become more of a market than a beach. Legian is also very busy, but far better than Kuta. It is like a quieter version of Kuta. My favorites are still Nusa Dua (the public area past Hilton is a long stretch of white sand, good for swimming. Of course you can also stay at the 5-star accommodations in Nusa Dua.

Other options, lifted from Bali Paradise Online:

"Jimbaran is a sleepy cove where fleets of fishing boats color the scene. Formerly a relatively quiet area, its image has improved dramatically with the opening of the beautiful Four Season's Resort and the Inter-Continental. The last couple of years, it has become even busier still with grilled seafood restaurants going up at a rapid pace along the beach, attracting local families and tourists in droves.

A popular spot for windsurfing and sailing small craft, which are available for rent, Jimbaran's grey sand and calm waters are attracting more people but the beach still has a sleepy feeling. A day at Jimbaran is made even more popular because of the all the wonderful options to eat. Choose from simple local food, the freshest fish or 5-star luxury. It is also a popular spot for sunset.

Nusa Lembongan is one of the most popular destinations for day cruises on the many pleasure boats sailing from Bali. Depending on whether you sail or motor, the trip can take anywhere from one hour to two and a half.

The pristine white sandy beaches with aquamarine bays are brimming with colorful sea life, so diving and snorkeling are very popular sports. The less adventurous can enjoy glass bottomed boat rides. A number of reef breaks are popular with surfers, and the view back to Bali with a looming Mount Agung makes a fabulous backdrop.

The most popular trips are on Bali Hai Cruises, but many smaller crafts also offer day trips with lunch and activities. Lembongan's larger neighbouring island, Nusa Penida, has a somewhat more ominous reputation and is less popular.

Padang Bai is the harbor where the boats from Lombok take off, but is also a lovely, laid back fishing village with a few losmens for accommodation. A short walk over the headland to the north will take you to an intimate white sand beach.

Between Singaraja and Seririt on Bali's wild north coast, is a busy stretch of losmens and hotels and some decent reef, but the low dark sea makes this far from the most inspiring stretch of beach in Bali.

A number of coves offer tranquil, protected waters and Lovina is one of them. Although the sand is grey, it is quiet and peaceful, and popular among those who shun the glitzier beach resorts of the south. Dolphins play in the water off Lovina.

Diving off Pulau Menjangan, part of the Bali Barat National Park, is generally regarded as the best in Bali. Boats are readily available to take divers over to the island, where there are no residents or hotels.

The village of Sanur located on the eastern coast of Bali is the ideal beach for snorkeling as it is protected by a coral reef. Sanur is Bali's first beach resort, it is also Bali's largest traditional village. It is a place of remarkable contrasts: a golden mile of gorgeous hotels that attract millions of paradise seekers every year, and yet, within the very grounds of the 11-storey Grand Bali Beach, a war reparation gift from the Japanese, nestles the sacred and special temple of Ratu Ayu of Singgi, the much feared spirit of Sanur's fabled Black Barong.

Nevertheless village life goes on and visitors can really experience the real Bali. Choose between Balinese or Western style accommodation, both with all the comforts of home. There are also many excellent open air restaurants and cafes offering every variety of food imaginable. The life style here is far different from Kuta and Legian with the accent on relaxation!

These beaches were formerly the playground of surfers almost exclusively. The former teak forest was only accessible over rough dirt tracks and the hike down to some of the beaches deterred just about everyone but the most dedicated wave riders.

This is no longer true. A number of developments planned on the barren bukit have meant that tarred roads have been put in, and slowly steps and access paths have been built down to the more popular beaches. This means that virtually anyone can take advantage of these stunning beaches, which are still very quite by Bali's standards.

Small warungs offer simple food and cold drinks, the obligatory massage people have moved in and a few sellers offer basic Bali merchandise. When the surf's up you can catch some world-class rides, when there is no surf the beaches become quiet lagoons with crystal clear water lapping the white sand.

Uluwatu is still the busiest, particularly at sunset when the monkeys play on the spectacularly located temple. Very basic accommodation is available at most of the bukit beaches.

Between Kuta and the airport, big hotels line this stretch of beach. A little less frantic than Kuta, it's a good place to grab a deck chair and a good book. Swimming here is safe, as the hotel lifeguards will put up flags if there are any rips, but mostly it is pretty well protected. "

  3. There's a lot of nice beaches in Bali to Swin, some famous of them are Nusa Dua beach, Sanur Beach, etc

  4. Yes... there are some of beaches in bali where u can swim. The water has no really big wave, try such as Nusa Dua Beach, Sanur beach, or Lovina Beach.

Nusa Dua beach is quite private, where's Nusa Dua is a compound of good hotels. Near Dusa Dua, there's Benoa Beach... Not as private as Nusa Dua Beach, but u can do some water sports in there (parasailing, jetski, banana boat & so much more).

Sanur beach is located in a 'quite-old' area in Bali. As i know, sanur beach isn't as clean as the other beaches in bali.

Lovina beach is located in the north of Bali. Quite a long trip from kuta area (around 3-4 hours fro Kuta area taking by car), but u'll found there is so much different atmosphere there. The beach has a quite nice view, and in the morning u can hv a short-time trip to the sea where u can see the swimming dolphins group.

Also there is Dreamland Beach, but this beach is popular for the surfers.

Once my balinese friend told me about Tulamben, where some people can do the diving there. Maybe u can get some information about that beach to balinese people, i'm sure they'll give u the right information.

Hope this can help for your next coming to bali (maybe in the future) :)

  5. Go up to Amed, and just head to the ocean.  There's no big, sprawling beach, but it's relatively quite and spectacular coral and fish less than 10 feet down.

  6. Yes, in Sanur Beach.

    edit :

clean sandy beach, older people and families come here because this beach is an artificial one meaning, it was so destroyed that the Japanese offered to "rebuild"it. It has a reef. The ocean space between the beach and the reef has calm waters and you are only waist deep during high tide.

The big waves are behind the reef. Perfect for people who can't swim, are afraid of the water or aren't self confident enough to swim in open waters.
