... i dont know, i guess its because when most people think of surfers as blond, stupid, and everyone seems to think we talk stupid, and constantly day "dude," and "narly", and $h!t like that. i love the show, but im a surfer, and i have dark brown hair, and i talk like a normal person, just like all my surfer friends.

Not ALL surfers have blonde hair, but alot do because of all that time in the sun. Or they dye it to fit in.

Yep, the sun reflects off of the water and bleaches their hair. Their arm hair is usually pretty blonde as well.

You may notice they also don't have as much acne as other people - the ocean helps prevent break outs.

Easy with generalizations. The small amount of hair I have left is gray. When I had lots more, it was dark brown. And i guarantee I spent thousands of hours in the sun. So how come every person who makes generalizations has a small p@#*s?

Well, if you exclude hawaiians, the original surfers, then yes, I guess almost every surfer does have blond hair.

yah, mostly because of the sun, and the saltwater... it really lightens up your hair. I know some guys who I surf with almost every day though, and even though they have naturally dark skin, and brown hair, the tips of their hair are light blond from surfing. It's just a part of loving the ocean... it leaves it's mark on you over time.

Ummm.. I have brown hair, or at least I still have some brown hair.  The rest has decided to die itself gray one hair at a time.
