  1. Here is a link to my beach page:

There are quite a few activities there to help with your lesson planning, like beach ball art, a variety of sand art ideas, games, book ideas and more.

Here are a few other beach theme pages for that age:

  2. Make a sandcastle? Or a model that looks like a sandcastle.

Sort out shells into different buckets?

Paint a picture of the beach?

Play with a blow up ball? Games like time bomb are good.

  3. instead of pass the parcel how about pass the beach ball have small treats on hand to give out when the music stops the child left holing the ball receives the treat.

  4. I think I've answered a similar question already about this so may be worth typing in the question to see the resolved ones for more ideas.

Ideas we used in my setting:

-Rolep lay-we set up a 'beach' outside...blue sheet was the sea and the beige was the beach-we then had a builders tray with actual sand....we then had buckets and spades in the tray and shells. The children had towels and swimwear to put on over clothes. We also had sunhats and empty sun lotion bottles. We role played and talked about beach safety. Children took their own photos and we made a holiday scrapbook.

Sand pictures-children spread glue on paper -preferably in a pattern or picture then then sprinkle sand on..when they lift paper the sand stays on glue and makes a cool picture!

-Painting: children can make 3D beach/sea pictures---add sand to yellow paint, thicken up green paint (seaweed), cotton wool clouds etc.

-Design a swimming costume...can be put on writing table and chidlren freely decorate.

-Sand pit-explore different types of sand...eg: put into several trays and add different amounts of water...children can explore which sand and water combo made best  sand castles! Great for Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy (language such as more/less, thick, dry/wet)

  5. play soccer with a beach ball.  this is great for young kids as a beach ball won't go far, mostly up.  to add a little fun, we always played it with the sprinkler on (on water play day).  and to take it further, play crab soccer (either wet or dry).  it was a slippery, fun, time for all.

add to your sand table trinkets to 'beachcomb' for.

add a lot of different kinds of shells, driftwood or seaweed to your science center.  also add magnifying glasses to study under.

make sandscapes in a baby food jar.  use colored sand (purchased) and seashells.  just fill the jars.

  6. go onto first school they have great Ideas, school express, dtlk, try these sorry not good  with a comp or I would send a link.

    Let me try.

nope that did not work.but go to these site.

  7. What we did:

-had a beach theme day where we spent most of the day in swimsuits; had parents bring their little wading pools (we only had one) and water and sand toys to share (be sure everything is labelled); played Beach Boys music outside; set up a slip 'n' slide and a sprinkler; played with beach balls (if you do a lot of outdoor water play in swimsuits in the summer, you could just divide up the activities and do a special one each day rather than all on one day)

-hid shells in the sand table (indoors)

-put shells and small toy sea animals in the water table indoors

-make patterns with glue on construction paper; sprinkle sand all over the glue and shake off excess (end up with really neat patterns of sand!)

  8. we made ice creams, piece of card in shape of ice cream, cotton wool for ice cream, sand for cone, dizzle coloured glue(glue and paint mixed) for ice cream sauce,

    collage with sand and shells

    shell printing

jelly rockpools- make green/blue jelly, put little fishy shaped jelly sweets in before thet set,

make their own smoothie ice lollies

  9. Sand in the sensory table. Or water with ships and other floatie things.

Get pails with different colors and have them match things found in the classroom and put it in the correct pail (Ex...blue pail...blue objects.)

    Paint with water colors.

Make sail boats and have them float.

Have them paint bathing suits and have them hung up to look like they are "drying".

  10. A big collage....give them a sheet of paper and sand and shells and blue tissue...they can stick that on.

  11. use food coloring to color sand and let them glue the sand to a picture.....
