I am getting married October 10, 2010 in Panama City Beach Florida. My dilemma is what colors do I go with? Aqua and pink for the beachy theme, or dark oranges, bronze, brown and creams for the fall? I am pulling my hair out on this one! Any ideas?

  1. Tiffany Blue(blue auqa) and Brown. Perfect Match for season and the beachy theme and I have seen this on weddings and its sooo fabulous. I really love the color combo. I would use it for my wedding but my fiance really wants his camo tux so my colors are green and brown. Have fun with it and play up the colors!!

  2. Hi Kimberly:

I would use the aqua and pink.

IF you were getting married in a more northern area of the country, where the leaves change colors, etc., then I would go with the oranges, bronze, browns, etc. but NOT at the beach!

If you are getting married at the beach....use the "beachy" colors.

Good luck.  I LOVE the beaches in Florida myself!

  3. I'm getting married on October the 18th on a cruise ship using a beach theme. My colors are bahamian blue and ivory...the flowers are oranges and reds with hints of green.

  4. i would go for beachy themes, its the prettiest for the beach, maybe a light pink would be nices

  5. How about a compromise? You could use "fall" colors, but in lighter shades to fit the beach atmosphere. Examples: mango/coral and canary yellow, or brown with a lighter compliment like pale yellow. But remember you aren't bound by the seasons, if you love aqua and pink, you should use those colors!

  6. I think burnt oranges and browns would be really pretty and unique for a beach wedding.

  7. Well if it's during the sunset, peach and white colors would be a romantic theme to go along with. If it's during the day, try a simple white dress, with decorative shells for some kind of hairpiece (like on a headband, or something to tuck a bang in), and maybe a light tone of peach. Don't go with blue on the dress, because it wouldn't look so nice to blend in with the ocean in the background.

    Have fun!

  8. Do you realize that you have a good while to decide this? I suggest you look at other peoples weddings and decide from there. I would stay away from anything tan, or cream, as it will not stand out @ the beach. Maybe some coral, bronze, and teal. I think that would be really pretty!

  9. I live near there...In fact, was supposed to be married on the beach in Destin at Henderson State Park a few years ago-but we had Hurricane Ivan instead!

If you are having it on the beach-don;t do the fall colors. Since you are using eh beach you probably want to emphasize the warmth loveliness of our white sands. So use a color to "pop" against them.

**ETA**As I'm sure you know...since it is the Gulf Of Mexico, you can wear almost any blue and not blend in with the water here.

LOL The same for not wearing tans and golds. Our sand is white you will not blend :) The advice for that would be don't wear white.

  10. When you think beach one thinks - tans, browns, blues and whites...

Have a dark brown (for the fall), tan (for the sand), blue (ocean), and accent with yelllow or orange.

  11. Your colors do not have to match the season. I went crazy over this, too. We're having a fall wedding, and at first, I felt obligated to go with the reds, oranges and browns, but I really didn't want that, so I decided to go with rich colors in general, like colors you would see in fall fashion (magenta, emerald green, gold, plum) and ended up choosing teal blue, ivory with accents in gold and chocolate brown.

I would pick a rich color like plum, and pair it with pink or orange (purple and orange are BEAUTIFUL together, but still fun and very fall).

Here's an example (scroll down to the bridesmaid dress:

Here's another example of the color scheme:

I like taking chances with color, though, so that might be too crazy for you, but I think for the beach ceremony in the fall, that's the perfect combination of the season and style of the venue. It'll look so pretty.

    I really hope that helps!

  12. What if you went with the sand and sea.. use a deep (almost navy) blue with a color close to orange (for the sand). This way, you're still going with the beachy theme and throwing in some of the fall colors.. and actually, Florida doesn't typically get a lot of "fall" colors so to speak.. You could probably get away with your aqua and pink and no one would say anything..
