Question:

Beach with no waves in Southern California

I went to a beach about 14 years ago and there wasn't any waves and you could swim out to a squred plat form and dive from there

does anyone know where this is at?...I went as a kid but haven't been there since...I remember using goggles and lookin at the sand and swimming out to the floating square.

kinda like baby beach in doheny but wasnt that one.

  1. I don't know about a platform, but try Long Beach, it's a bay so it has no waves.  They also have Mother's Beach there.


  2. Corona Del Mar...between Newport and Laguna. No waves there.......

  3. You might be thinking of Newport Dunes?  It's by Back Bay and Balboa off of Jamboree...

    I remember there used to be a whale or some other type of LARGE floating animal out there that we used to climb when I was a kid... there was some other stuff in the water too... I can't remember specifically if there was a floating square though??

    Newport Dunes has a public area and also an RV park and campgrounds.  You have access to the harbor with a sailboat.  You can also get other water toys to play with. Does that ring any bells?
