Beaches in Spain in October?

I'm traveling to Spain right at the beginning of October and I plan on visiting several cities. My plan is to visit cities along the Mediterranean coast so I can visit the beaches. The only thing I'm unsure about is how the weather will be. Does anyone know if October is a decent month for going to the beach in Spain? Also I realize that pretty much every beach in Spain allows nudity. Has anyone been to a nude beach? Are they weird? Gross? I hope to have a good time no matter what but if anyone has any info on beach life in Spain that would be great.

I am also going to Portugal in October and the climate there is okay, the best part about being away in October is the peace and quiet.
