Beaches in new york york that are easy to get to by tourists?

by train or cab? i'm looking for a nice beach that we can get to and get out of easily without having a car.

Orchard Beach in Long Island Sound by Pelham Bay Park.

Easily accessibble by Bx12+Select Bus Service.

At Inwood-207th St on (A), 207th St (1), University Heights MNRR/Hudson Line, Fordham (4)/(B)/(D), Fordham MNRR/Harlem-New Haven Lines, 2/<5> Pelham Parkway, (5) Pelham Parkway and Pelham Bay Park (6) train stations are connected by Bx12+Select Bus Serivce (formelly limited)

At these subway stations, there will be blue sign indicating where Select Bus will be stopping. On Pelham Bay Park, SBS to Orchard Beach stops on Bx12 Bay Plaza stop.

Bx12+Select Bus Service will be much faster.

Fare must be paid at SBS service machine. Put MetroCard into fare collectors or $2 in coins to Coin Fare Collector to get proof-of-payment reciept.

Once you get, you just board through rear or front doors of SBS toward Orchard Beach.
