Question:

Beading help?

Hello fellow crafters. I am a jewelry designer and I'm kind of on a tight budget. Unfortunately, I don't have any beading stores where I live, so I usually end up buying online. The thing is, since I don't make HUGE peices, I don't need to buy a whole strand of 100 beads for 50 bucks when I only need 2 or 3. Is there a place online where I can buy only one or two beads at a time? They are commonly called bead bars. Thanks in advance for the answers.

  1. Try World Of Beads and Crystals

    http://cyberselect.com/beads

Although on line they sell full packages or strand, but they will sell also small quantities if you contact them directly.

  2. Have you tried Michael's? They have small packs and I find them good for times when I only need a bead or two.

I'm not sure if they do online shopping but you can contact them through their site.

  3. Hobby Lobby has a separate online store called Crafts, Etc. You can purchase small packages of beads there in the $2 range. Here's a sample page:

Also, I have purchased items from PizazzWorks. By signing up for their newsletter I get emails with links to great sales. Try this page for a sample:

  4. If you have a wholesale number, this site will save you even more money than the prices it lists for retail... http://talismanbeads.com/ It also lists Bead Shows all across the country, and maybe near to where you live. There you can get even more beads individually or by the strand. Beads by the strand usually work out to be more economical than individually.
