Ok, so my science teacher had a beaker with a lip, and a continuous string of mardi gras [sp?] beads taped together. She threw the first few inches over the side, and as they fell to the floor, the others lifted as they practically flew out of the jar. i have come up iwth a good hypothesis, but I have to proove it, or give an accurate answer. i have no idea! can anyone make a guess at what caused the beads to lift out of the jar as they fell?

  1. the inertia of the stringed beads, transferred through the string to propel other beads out of the beaker, also, the force pushing the beads out of the beaker further down, pulls the beads in the beaker out
