Beagle's Nose Question...?

my boyfriend got a beagle puppy about 2 months ago, now i've seen lots of beagle pictures and real beagles before this dog, but i gotta say i've never seen one quite like this. his nose is very pointed, not round like i've seen in most beagles. is this rare for a beagle to look like that. its not a great look either, the dog is really strange & ugly looking with his pointy snout. i know he's a purebred beagle cuz he has papers. so i just wanna know if most beagles are known to have rounder noses or pointer ones.

most of round but like everyone, every dog is different. my little Heidi has a round one though

is it a pure breed? because if it is then maybe the mother mated with a different kind of dog or vice versa

Even with pure bred dogs there can be recessive genes that result in some mutants. Beagles, according to the AKC, should be 13 or 15 inches tall. My pure bred Beagle is about 19 inches and weighs 37 lbs.

Probably somewhere back in his background was a terrier or other pointed nose breed.

All dogs breeds have common ancestors which can result in a recessive gene causing abnormalities.
