My little boy put some bean seeds in the aquarium, saying that he's trying to grow it for the fish. Will the seed harm the fishes or is it ok?

  1. I would say a no to the beans, but my bamboo is submerged slightly in it's vase, you could try puuting a bamboo halfway full in the water.

  2. Watch for rot.  If the seeds start to get fuzzy, take them out.  Beans aren't underwater plants, so they're bound to rot sooner or later.  As soon as they rot, take them out.  They're fine in there until then.  Your fish either won't care they're there or might try to nibble on them.  The seeds won't hurt your fish.

Plants with too much water will rot.  If you want some plants that are specially grown underwater, try your local aquahobby store or go to this website:  http://www.azgardens.com/apons.php

  3. i dont think bean seeds will grow under water. i would try to buy some plants from the petstore because theyll actually grow in you tank
