Bearded Dragon Flooring???

Question

Can Bearded Dragons have sand as the floor of their enclosure and if so does it have to be a certain sort.

i use slate tile its cheap easy to clean and it keeps their nails short from walking on it

sand is fine any sand works perfect.

I use crushed walnut shells. Most of the pet stores have them, and it worked out pretty good so far.

NO!!! DO NOT USE SAND!!!!!!!! your beardie can eat the sand and it may cause impaction, which can be FATAL.

i have tile in my beardies tank. it looks nice, easy to maintain, and it keeps their nails filed down.

also you could use reptile carpet. it looks nice if maintained, and its easy to maintain.

i have used sand for 7 years with no problem its playsand not construction sand

it doesnt really matter you can have sand,dirt,bark chips or anything really
